I created two pages showing rough ideas and planning for how I decided to execute the shot. I took into account the "critical moments" or important moments in the scene, to know where the accents were going in the animation.

Video Reference
I shot a video reference of myself exploring the many ways my character could execute the action regardless of which approach I chose. I also looked at how the subtext could work.
I study the heck out of it, and I study and draw notes on the video to determine the strongest poses and timing.
Other good references
I also took some references from movies to see how I could improve my acting and body movements.
In this scene from the movie The Internship I noticed how Dana speaks and expresses herself with her eyes, we can see how she speaks to Nick almost completely ignoring him, she is very busy and we can also say that she shows a bit of ego. His eyes are always looking at his notebook or when she takes the item of clothing, She looks with anticipation at the girl who gives her the clothes. She always keeps a constant look on either side until Nick decides to go ahead and cross his path. Her body movements are also very stiff, expressionless, and very serious.
Another reference was from Robert de Niro, we can see his anticipation to make the expression with his hand and how he makes the sign with the index finger. At first, my idea was to have my hand fully extended (as seen in the reference), however, this scene helped me a lot to improve that expression. We also see how he bends his arm to anticipate and of course, that strong look with his eyebrows and jaw, tenses his face to demonstrate the subtext.
