Video Reference
I filmed a video of myself exploring how my character could execute the action regardless of which approach I chose.
I study the heck out of it, and I study and draw notes on the video to determine the strongest poses and timing.
Also, I look for inspiration like Tom & Jerry. For example, my first idea was to use a track from one episode, but in the end, I decided not to use it to have more freedom in the animation.
